Cowboys cut offensive lineman
Todd Archer/Reporter, Dallas Morning News

The Cowboys released rookie tackle Andre Douglas, putting the roster at 76 and leaving them with one more move to make for Tuesday’s cut down to 75.

Douglas signed with the Cowboys on Aug. 3 and saw only spot duty in the preseason games.

To reach the 75-man limit, the Cowboys can put rookie tackle Robert Brewster on the reserve/physically unable to perform list or place linebacker Brandon Williams on injured reserve with a knee injury.

Cowboys make roster moves…08/03/2009

This came from Todd Archer of the Dallas Morning News:

The Cowboys waived/injured offensive tackle Michael Turkovich, who suffered a knee injury two days ago. To replace him the club signed guard/tackle Andre Douglas out of Temple.

Douglas spent his first two years at Rhode Island before transferring to Temple. He started every game he played at Temple and played right guard and right tackle. The roster stands at 80, without third-round pick Robert Brewster, who has yet to sign his deal.

Because of league rules, the Cowboys have to keep Brewster on the active roster until the cut to 75 on Sept. 1. Essentially, they are getting a free look at another player for a time until they bring Brewster, who is rehabbing from pectoral surgery, to San Antonio.
