Garrison to recommend Craig Barker
Barker, who has been the offensive coordinator at Henderson for the past three years, will replace Craten Phillips, pending school board approval.
Barker has been an assistant at Henderson since 2001, and he's also been an assistant in Jacksonville and Gilmer.

Poe told his players about the decision during a team meeting this morning.
Poe was 6-14 in two years at Spring Hill.
Keith Cook to resign at Hawkins
Cook has been the head coach at Hawkins since 2005 with a record of 26-47, and three playoff appearances ('05, '08, '09).

Sabine's Baker will retire
Baker was 7-33 in 4-years at Sabine, and was 18-11-1 as a head coach at Detroit High School.
From my conversation with Coach Baker, I'm not sure he's out of coaching, and perhaps might coach in another state.

1) Looks like Jefferson played some tough competition and competed well against Henderson and Gilmer.
2) Sabine dominated their other two 8-3A opponents today. Â
3) Gladewater beats Kilgore (who has already qualified for 7v7 state) then loses to White Oak.Â
4) Beating Gladewater may be the first win of any type of football for White Oak in at least a year. I would assume they were excited and probably a pretty good chance we will hear about it later.......

Kilgore starting QB didn't play at all. The backup was getting 100% of the reps.

Offense hasn’t been the problem the last few years. I do think it’ll be better this year, but gotta make more stops on the other side of the ball.Â

The Shelbyville Dragons scored runs in 6 of 7 innings to defeat the Gary Bobcats 9-3 in game 2 to tie the series 1 to1. Game 3 to follow at Nacogdoches High School.
